Celebrating the life of
Patty Crawford Gaillard
March 17, 1914 - August 17, 2006
Savannah - Patty Crawford Gaillard, age 92, died Thursday, August 17, 2006, at Memorial Health University Medical Center. A Savannah native, the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. William Barron Crawford, Sr., she attended the Knox School in Cooperstown, New York. She was a member of the Junior League of Savannah, St. John’s Episcopal Church and St. Andrew’s Reformed Episcopal Church.
Mrs. Gaillard taught pre-school and the first grade at Hancock Day School for more than twenty years. She loved the challenge of teaching children and the excitement each student experienced when he or she caught on. Many years after her retirement she was always thrilled when a former student would recognize her and come up to her and speak.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, George Siday Gaillard III and Sylvia Bridgewater Gaillard of Waleska, GA, and two daughters, Trish Gaillard Snyder and Sally Gaillard Fiveash, both of Savannah; a grandson, Barron Matthew Gaillard of Atlanta; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 4:00-6:00 pm at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday in Bonaventure Cemetery with The Reverend Gavin G. Dunbar officiating.
The family suggests that remembrances be made to Hospice Savannah, Inc., P.O. Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416 or the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 13117, Savannah, GA 31416.
